After a lot of thought and debate, we decided to leave the hotels options up to our guests, allowing them to determine what they were most comfortable with in terms of location and price.

Given the high attrition rate for many hotels when reserving a block of rooms (where in some cases we would be responsible for fulfilling 90% of the total rooms we requested), we decided to forego committing to a block of rooms.

Through his employer, Felix has a few discount options for both the Palmer House and Conrad. Additionally, we were able to arrange a discount code for Club Quarters (see below), although their booking policy is on a “first come first served” basis.

Ambassador East

While not the cheapeast option around, the Ambassador East is by far the closest (to the reception site). Located literally next door to Maxim’s, this hotel gives you the shortest distance from the reception to your bed.

We (the bride and groom) are staying at the Ambassador East. We’re considering continuing the party and inviting folks up to our suite after the doors close at Maxim (at midnight).

Club Quarters, Central Loop

Of the two Club Quarters locations, this location is closest to the ceremony site.

Club Quarters are a chain of hotels designed primarily for business travellers. Given their customer base, the rooms are nice… but seem like they may be on the small side. That said, their prices are pretty exceptional, particularly given the rates of other downtown Chicago hotels.

We were able to get a discount code for Club Quarters (DEP912). The rates are as follows:

The Palmer House is located very close to the wedding ceremony site. It’s on the higher end, as far as hotels go, but it’s about a block and a half away from the DePaul Rooftop Terrace.
